Whatever you want to do Erwlon can provide a great base for the more active tourist! Many of our visitors find that the best way to really enjoy our beautiful countryside is to get out of the car and get active. In order that you can get a flavour of what is available we have tried to a few tasters on this part of our site and are updating it based on feedback from visitors.

Try the "Golden Secrets" cycle route will take you to the National Trust's Dolaucothi and give you stunning views of the valley from a road that only sees about 15 cars a day! Or alternatively go down the Towy valley to the historic gardens at Aberglassney or explore the Myddfai Valley, the original home of herbalism in Britain, 13th century physicians used its herbs, which are said to have originally been a gift from a fairy of the lake Llyn Y Fan Fach. Whatever you believe, the area is still rich in bog plants, herbs and lychens.
