Make the most of the Summer Events.

Date: Friday, August 15th 2014

With a few weeks of the Summer holidays left there are still plenty of events to head to in the area. This weekend in the National Botanic Gardens of Wales is the Wales Tree Festival. In its third year the event includes woodturning displays, tree canopy bug hunt, tree and woodland guided walks, willow weaving and even tree themed henna body art. For something a bit different on the 22nd of August you could try a “Sheep trek in the Brecon Beacons’. Good Day Out has teamed up with Aberhyddnant Farm to organise this event and you can chose your own sheep from a flock of well trained Jacobs. For more information and to book visit www.gooddayout.co.uk On the same weekend from the 23rd - 25th of August Brecon Beacons is hosting its annual Summer Fayre. Located in the National Park Visitor Centre in Libanus the event is a celebration of Welsh food, music, arts and crafts. After a great day out in the Summer Fayre why not head to the Dolaucothi Arms Beer Festival at Pumsaint on the 24th of August. Real Ales, Ciders, Live Music, treasure hunt and apple bobbing await you, the event start from 1pm - 11pm. And finally on the 21st and 28th of August what better way to treat yourself than a Afternoon Cream tea on the Gwili Steam Railway. Enjoy the train journey while being served your tea in the dinig cart. Teas served at certain times throughout the day and booking is essential. All these events are within a short drive of Erwlon, we are in a great location to explore not only Carmarthenshire but also the Brecon Beacons, West Wales, the Gower and beyond. If any of these events tempt you then why not book your accommodation with us online by visiting our online booking page.
