As the Summer holidays come to an end, weíre looking forward to September and itís a busy month in Carmarthenshire and the Cambrian Mountains with not only one but two walking festivals to choose from. In the Cambrian Mountains, STEPtember 2014 kicks off on the 1st of September with its 30 walks in 30 days. There are a number of walks starting from Llandovery including the Mynydd Mallaen Cilycwm Drovers Walk and Twm Sion Catiís Cave Walk. Walks also start at Llanwrtyd, Tregaron and Elan Valley, all a short drive from Erwlon. All walks are free and for more information and the full programme go to http://www.twmstreks.com/page14.htm Also starting on the 1st of September is the Carmarthenshire Walking Festival 2014. With walks ranging from 3 miles to 9 miles there is a walk suitable for various abilities. Walks include coastal walks at Llansteffan, Castle walks at Castell Carreg Cennen, and also a walk as part of the Llandovery Sheep Festival at the end of September.
